Take a Sneak Peek at the All-New 2022 INFINITI QX60!

September 11 2021, INFINITI Gallery

The 2022 INFINITI QX60 is a really big deal.

Our dealership had the privilege to take an early sneak peek at the completely redesigned All-New 2022 INFINITI QX60 even before the actual unit arrives in Fall 2021 and it did not disappoint. This premium, midsize three-row has gone through a radical departure from its predecessor with no stone left unturned. The exterior design, interior layout, technology and powertrain has been changed so significantly, the QX60 demonstrates what this premium Japanese brand is capable of, but it shows the direction that INFINITI is going. Though there may be very few that have been able to drive the new QX60 at this point, the pre-production model that stopped by INFINITI Gallery left everyone who saw it impressed.

A 2022 QX60 Walk-around

The 2022 QX60 will be offered in four trim levels at launch. All versions of the QX60 will have INFINITI’s AWD system, a newly-developed 9-speed automatic transmission and a 3.5L V6 engine producing 295 horsepower. The powertrain allows for a towing capacity of 3500lbs, but with the optional towing package selected, the new QX60 can tow up towards 6000lbs.

For those families that plan to use their vehicles to bring along all their toys and gear, the QX60 is capable of achieving those goals. Standard features found elsewhere in the QX60 include a 12.3-inch INFINITI InTouch Interactive Display with Wireless Apple CarPlay and USB-based Android Auto, leather on the first and second-row seats, a moonroof that spans over the first and second row, a power boot lid, and rear parking sensors. The QX60 is set up with a seven-seat configuration as standard but a six-seater option, with captain chairs for the middle row, is available for the top trim Autograph models. A luxurious feature and a first for INFINITI is the addition of massager seats with 3 modes from the Sensory trim onwards which is a godsend for those who go on long road trips. Other enticing features available in the new QX60 include a Smart Rear-View Mirror, ventilated front seats, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 17-speaker Bose Performance Series sound system and much, much more.

The new interior layout brings a haptic-feedback touch-sensitive display for climate control with excellent response. At first, the interior seems quite minimalist with lots of open surface space and a great view out. There’s a hollow section in the centre tunnel to fit handbag-sized items without issues and with a flat floor for the second row, two or three adults could happily sit there without causing any concerns. It’s obvious the engineers and the designers behind the new generation of the QX60 had passenger functionality in mind, making the QX60 not just an intelligently built car but a desirable car too. The exterior design paves the way for the future of the INFINITI design languages with subtle curves in the sheet metal, lots of chromed accent pieces and thin, sharp LED headlights and taillights. The design is effortlessly attractive and makes a confident statement about the brand.

Though this is just an insight into the new QX60, the production models will soon arrive at dealerships this Fall 2021. If you’ve been holding off on a new premium family SUV, the new 2022 QX60 will be worth the wait.
